PM  Narendra Modi Flaggs off 10 new Vande Bharat Trains

Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off 10 new Vande Bharat trains on Tuesday, March 12. Now the total number of Vande Bharat flights has crossed 50 and covered 45 nationwide routes. Two Vande Bharat trains will run on six routes including Delhi-Katra Delhi-Varanasi Mumbai-Ahmedabad Mysuru-Chennai Kasaragod-Thiruvananthapuram and now Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad. Currently, Indian Railways operates 41 Vande Bharat Express services; connecting the states with broad gauge (BG) electrified network and spanning 24 states and 256 districts.

Two Vande Bharat trains will run on six routes including Delhi-Katra, Delhi-Varanasi, Mumbai-Ahmedabad, Mysuru-Chennai, Kasaragod-Thiruvananthapuram and now, Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad.

In December 2023, the Prime Minister inaugurated six additional Vande Bharat trains. These included the second train connecting Katra to New Delhi. Other routes include Amritsar to Delhi, Coimbatore to Bengaluru, Mangalore to Madgaon, Jalna to Mumbai and Ayodhya to Delhi. The second train between Delhi and Varanasi was also inaugurated in December 2023.

City with maximum number of Vande Bharat trains

Delhi will host the highest number of Vande Bharat trains among cities, with 10 trains terminating in the capital. These trains connect Delhi to various destinations like Dehradun, Amb Andaura, Bhopal, Ayodhya, Amritsar and now Khajuraho.


It is followed by Mumbai with six dedicated trains, which also includes new services to Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. There are five trains in Chennai, and the second Vande Bharat train to Mysore is scheduled to be launched on Tuesday.

Kashi got the gift of two more new Vande Bharat trains, coach restaurant also started

Two more Vande Bharat trains will run from Varanasi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually flagged off the inaugural run. The Prime Minister also inaugurated the coach restaurant. With this, the first Jan Aushadhi Center of North Eastern Railway opened at Banaras station. Patna-Lucknow Vande Bharat going to Lucknow via Ayodhya was welcomed at Cantt station by Cantt MLA Saurabh Srivastava and Mayor Ashok Tiwari.

During this, the Prime Minister inaugurated stalls at Varanasi City, Sarnath and Banaras stations and coach restaurants at City and Cantt under One Station One Product. The first Janaushadhi center of North Eastern Railway opened at Banaras station. Here passengers will get medicines at cheap rates. On the other hand, goods shed was inaugurated at Vyasnagar station of Northern Railway.

Go to Ayodhya in the morning and return by night

According to the station director, train number 22345/46 Patna-Lucknow Vande Bharat is a good train for Ayodhya. Go to Ayodhya from Cantt in the morning and after darshan and worship, return by the same train by night. Board Vande Bharat at Cantt station for Ayodhya at 9.20 am and get down at Ayodhya at 12.20 pm. On the other hand, board Vande Bharat from Ayodhya station at 5.15 pm and get down at Cantt station at 8 pm. Ayodhya is the best train for transportation. There will be a lot of pressure on this train in the coming times.

According to railway officials, the operation of Ranchi-Varanasi Vande Bharat train will greatly benefit tourists including pilgrims between Sarnath and Gaya, the site of Lord Buddha’s first sermon. Will be able to travel in less than three hours. Train No. 20887/88 Ranchi-Varanasi Vande Bharat will leave Gaya station at 10 am, will reach Varanasi Cantt station at 1 pm via PDDU Nagar. In return, it will leave Cantt at 4.05 pm and reach Gaya station at 6.45 pm.
