3 thieves arrested in Ghaziabad, on 19 March police received information from the informer during checking police arrested 3 thieves from Tikona Park ahead of Koyal Electricity house. These thieves have different Companies Mobile and Cash with them.

3 thieves Arrested in Ghaziabad: Police Recovery and Action

Police recovered 16 different Companies’ Mobile Phones, 1 motorcycle, and 172000 rupees cash. Thieves Identify as-

  • Zubair son of Chand Sheikh, Address- house no 784 Tulsi Niketan district Ghaziabad, Current Address- f-442 DLF colony under Shalimar Police Station. Zubair is 25 years old
  • Tushar son of Sanjeev, Address- house no Street no.3 Nivadi road Shivpuri District Ghaziabad. Tushar is 20 years old.
  • Imran son of Salim, Address-harsh Vihar near Shivani Dairy Delhi, Imran is 23 years old.

Zubair had 31 cases on him of theft and loot in Ghaziabad and GautamBudh Nagar. Imran Had 5 cases of theft in district Ghaziabad and Gautambudh Nagar. Tushar Had 2 cases of theft in Ghaziabad District.


What is the Punishment in Case of Robbery?

In all robberies, there is either theft or extortion. Robbery is a criminal offense defined in Section 390 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Robbery is committed when a person takes or attempts to take property from another person in the following ways, according to the IPC:

  1. By using or threatening to use force.
  2. By injuring the person or causing them to fear injury.
  3. By attempting to kill or severely injure the person.
  4. The property taken or attempted to be taken can be movable or immovable, and it must
    be taken with the intent of permanently depriving the owner.

Robbery is a serious criminal offence that is punishable by imprisonment for a term of up to ten years, as well as a fine. If a deadly weapon is used in the robbery, the punishment can be even harsher, including life imprisonment or the death penalty. The punishment for robbery is noted under Section 392 of the IPC.

Theft (Section 379 IPC): If the stolen two-wheeler is valued at less than Rs. 5,000 (as per Section 379), the offender can be imprisoned for a term that may extend to three years, or with a fine, or both.

Robbery (Section 392 IPC): Whoever commits robbery shall be punished with rigorous imprisonment for a term which may extend to ten years, and shall also be liable to fine; and, if the robbery be committed on the highway between sunset and sunrise, the imprisonment may be extended to fourteen years.

Section 401: Punishment for belonging to gang of thieves— Whoever, at any time after the passing of this Act, shall belong to any wandering or other gang of persons associated for the purpose of habitually committing theft or robbery, and not being a gang of thugs or dacoits, shall be punished with rigorous imprisonment for a term which may extend to seven years, and shall also be liable to fine.

Section 394: Voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery— If any person, in committing or in attempting to commit robbery, voluntarily causes hurt, such person, and any other person jointly concerned in committing or attempting to commit such robbery, shall be punished with imprisonment for life, or with rigorous imprisonment for a term which may extend to ten years, and shall also be liable to fine.

Possession of Stolen Property (Section 411 IPC): If the thief is found to be in possession of the stolen two-wheeler, they can be imprisoned for up to three years and fined.

Receiving Stolen Property (Section 411 IPC): Anyone who knowingly receives or retains any stolen property can be punished with imprisonment for a term that may extend to three years or with a fine, or both.
