75th Republic Day of India 2024, President Droupadi Murmu hoisted the national flag

President Droupadi Murmu hoisted the national flag at 8 am at Kartavya Path. India observed its 75th Republic Day on January 26, 2024, Friday with grand regimental parades in Delhi. French President Emmanuel Macron was the chief guest, this marked the sixth time a French leader has been the chief guest at Republic Day Parade.

As per tradition, the National Flag was unfurled followed by the National Anthem with a booming 21-gun salute given with the indigenous gun system 105-mm Indian Field Guns. This was then followed by ‘Aavaahan’, a band performance by over 100 women artists playing various types of percussion instruments, symbolizing Nari Shakti.

On the occasion of the 75th Republic Day, a plethora of citizens gathered at Kartavya Path to witness the iconic Parade. The Republic Day parade is a symbol of National pride which commenced with the President Murmu taking the salute.

President Droupadi Murmu hoisted the national flag and addressed the Nation.

President Droupadi Murmu also addressed the nation on Republic Day eve; she talked about different topics which also includes achievements of India. She spoke about G20 summit, Ayodhya Ram Temple inauguration and women’s empowerment. She also paid tribute to former Bihar CM Karpoori Thakur, named for the country’s highest civilian award Bharat Ratna posthumously, for enriching public life through his contributions.

She also said, “When more women will be involved in matters of collective importance, our administrative priorities will be more in tune with the needs of the masses,”

 “The government has not only expanded and enhanced welfare schemes, but it has also redefined the idea of welfare itself…It will be a proud day for us all when India becomes one of those few countries where homelessness is a rarity,” Murmu added.

President Murmu almost covered all the fields in her speech as she also spoke about sports, upcoming Paris Olympics, Asian Games.  She also lauded India’s quest in space through the Moon mission, Solar explorer Aditya L1, deep space probe X-ray Polarimeter Satellite called XPoSat, under preparation man-mission Gaganyaan and other technological milestones.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi began the Republic Day 2024 celebrations by paying tribute to the brave soldiers of the Indian armed forces at the National War Memorial in Delhi on Friday morning. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh received PM Modi upon his arrival at the memorial.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday continued his tradition of wearing flamboyant and colourful turbans on Republic Day and Independence Day. For the 75th Republic Day celebrations, the prime minister is donning multi-coloured bandhani print safa ‘pagdi’ (turban) seemed like homage to Lord Ram.

He said, “Global experts saying India will not stop now, all rating agencies lauding country.

As nation formed a new government in 2019, PM Modi found the courage to reform. Today, the nation’s speak for reform, perform and transform,” said.

PM Modi wishes Independence Day to the 140 crore families of India – the world’s biggest democracy. “Number 1 nation in terms of population. We all are celebrating Independence Day today,” said Modi.

The Prime Minister said that the government’s every moment and every rupee is going towards the welfare of citizens. “Government and citizens united with spirit of ‘nation first’,” he added.

He also added that world has seen India’s calibre during covid-19 outbreak.

The tableau not only pays homage to the divine ceremony in Ayodhya on January 22 but also highlights the state’s achievement.
The front segment of the tableau intricately captures the consecration ceremony, presenting an artistic model portraying Lord Ram in youthful form wielding a bow and arrow—an exquisite homage to the divine symbolism associated with Ayodhya. In addition to its spiritual Representation, the tableau symbolises Ayodhya as a city embodying with “Viksit Bharat” with “samridh Virasat” signifying developed India rich in prosperous heritage.
