Taking to Instagram on Saturday, she posted videos apologizing to her fans and followers for ‘shocking’ them.  However, this death stunt went completely wrong for her as netizens are making memes and trolling her.

In the video, she said “I am alive. I didn’t die of cervical cancer. Unfortunately, I can’t say that about those hundreds and thousands of women who have lost their lives because of cervical cancer.” She went on to talk about the disease. Sharing the video, Poonam wrote, “I feel compelled to share something significant with you all – I am here, alive. Cervical Cancer didn’t claim me, but tragically, it has claimed the lives of thousands of women who stemmed from a lack of knowledge on how to tackle this disease.”

She also added that she is ‘proud of’ what Poonam Pandey death stunt achieved.

The post read, “This morning is a tough one for us. Deeply saddened to inform you that we have lost our beloved Poonam to cervical cancer. Every living form that ever came in contact with her was met with pure love and kindness. In this time of grief, we would request for privacy while we remember her fondly for all that we shared.”

As a result of this, some immediately labelled it as a publicity stunt, while others, including a segment of concerned and surprised fans, took the news seriously. Several celebrities, including Kangana Ranaut, Bipasha Basu, Mandira Bedi, Mini Mathur, Arti Singh have criticised actor-model Poonam Pandey’s reappearance on social media a day after her team claimed that she died from cervical cancer.

Taking to her Instagram, Comedian Krushna Abhishek’s sister Arti Singh shared Poonam’s photo and wrote, “Disgusting… this is not awareness. I lost my mother when I was born coz of cancer. I lost my father coz of cancer…Just not acceptable: you are playing with everyone’s emotions. Shame and it’s shocking that people can stoop down to this level…”
