The election commission denied the PTI symbol of “bat” due to which it was forced to field its candidates as independents.

Three major parties were involved in the contest for Pakistan’s 2024 general election: Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Nawaz Sharif’s Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz), and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).

In the interview, she also asserted that independents have a two-thirds majority and the right to govern.

Speaking on the issue of the cricket bat, the symbol of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, which was banned shortly before the election, she said, “They took away the right of 15 million people to recognise the symbol. That bat was a symbol that 15 million people who are illiterate recognise their candidate with.

Consequently, now the Pakistan election commission has finally decided to reconsider the polling in more than 50 booths on February 15. Hopefully, the final result will be declared soon and the name of the new prime minister of Pakistan will be announced.
