The couple, Vicente and Fernanda, announced to their followers in a series of Instagram Stories on Friday night that they had been attacked. Fernanda was allegedly raped by seven men while Vicente was bashed and had a knife held to his throat.
They had recently concluded a trip to Sri Lanka before the Indian leg of their journey, and were on their way to Nepal via Bhagalpur. The attack took place after the couple stopped to camp the night in a tent near the Hansdiha market.
The condition of the Spanish travel vlogger, who was gang-raped in Dumka, Jharkhand, is physically stable, but she is ’emotionally broken.’ A prominent district judge said this after meeting him on Monday.
According to media reports, ‘Principal District Judge (PDJ) of Dumka and Chairman of District Legal Services Authority Anil Kumar Mishra met the Spanish national who was gang-raped by seven people in Dumka and filed an FIR in connection with the same. The report was submitted to Jharkhand Legal Services Authority (JHALSA).

In his report, Mishra said that his team had ensured that the woman got adequate security while the investigation proceeded. The PDJ team helped him record his statement under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, and ordered him to pay compensation of ₹10 lakh.
“(We) assured them that the wrongdoers will be caught and prosecuted as soon as possible,” the Dumka judge said in his report. The victim was emotionally devastated, but her physical condition was stable and receiving medical attention.
