The court of Special Judge (MP-MLA Court) Avnish Gautam sentenced Mukhtar Ansari on Wednesday. During this, Mukhtar was presented through video conferencing. On June 5, 2023, the same court had sentenced Mukhtar Ansari to life imprisonment in the Awadhesh Rai murder case. Mukhtar has been convicted in seven cases so far. Convicted in the eighth case.

According to the prosecution, Mukhtar Ansari had applied to the District Magistrate of Ghazipur on June 10, 1987 for the license of a double barrel gun. The allegation was that he had obtained the arms license by obtaining the recommendation through fake signatures of the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police of Ghazipur.

After the fraud was exposed, CBCID had registered a case against Mukhtar Ansari, the then Deputy Collector and five named and unknown others at Mohammadabad police station in Ghazipur on December 4, 1990.

After investigation, a charge sheet was filed in the court in 1997 against the then Ordnance Clerk Gaurishankar Srivastava and Mukhtar Ansari. Due to the death of Gaurishankar Srivastava during the hearing, the case against him was closed on 18 August 2021. ADGC Vinay Kumar Singh and Prosecution Officer Uday Raj Shukla presented the case on behalf of the prosecution in the court.

Under these sections of the Indian Penal Code, there is a provision of maximum punishment of up to ten years. Apart from this, Mukhtar Ansari has been found guilty under Section 30 of the Arms Act. Under this, there is a provision to punish with a maximum sentence of six months or fine or both.


Mukhtar Ansari’s name is taken as the biggest mafia of Purvanchal. Mukhtar Ansari also had complete control in politics. Be it outside the jail or in the jail, whichever election Mukhtar stood for, he would have won. Now its empire is coming to an end. The foundation of the mafia empire of Interstate Gang (IS-191) leader and history-sheeter Mukhtar Ansari has been shaken.
