Uzbekistan beat India 3-0 in the AFC Asia Cup

Uzbekistan beat India 3-0 in the AFC Asia Cup at Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium. India lost their second match in The AFC Asia Cup. Uzbekistan came with the intent to win this match they are the heavy favorites to win this match they beat Team India comprehensively. Uzbekistan beat the Indian side by a big margin of three goals they are in total control of this match. The Indian Team is not even close to putting up a Fight in this match. India is taking a big hit on reaching the knockouts with consecutive second defeats.

Indian team starting eleven

Indian coach Igor Štimac picked Gurpreet Singh Sandhu as a first-choice keeper. Sandesh Jhingan and Rahul Bheke as centre back. Nikhil Poojary is right side back and Akash Mishra is left side back. Suresh Singh Wangjam and Lalengmawia Ralte Playing in the Mid-field. Manvir Singh is right-wing and Naorem Mahesh Singh is left-wing. Anirudh Thapa is playing behind the striker Sunil Chhetri. Igor Štimac chose a 4-2-3-1 formation in this match.

AFC Asia Cup: Uzbekistan beat India 3-0 

Srečko Katanec’s team started the match they were heavy favorites to win the match. In the 4th minute, Sherzod Nasrullaev’s inswinging cross met the head of Otabek Shukurov who found Abbosbek Fayzullaev who provided a finish. Uzbekistan leading 1-0 early in the game. In the 10th minute, Nikhil Poojary committed a foul on Abbosbek Fayzullaev. The referee gave a free-kick, Jaloliddin Masharipov tried to score but the ball hit the crossbar.

In the 18th minute, Rahul Bheke loses the ball cheaply near the halfway line and Fayzullaev capitalizes on the error by snatching the ball and making a run at goal. Once inside the box, he looks to square the ball at the far post but Mishra tries to intercept the ball.

Mishra’s touch leads to the ball hitting the crossbar and coming back into play. With the whole Indian defense in disarray, Sergeev rushes in to lash the ball inside the net from a close distance. Uzbekistan doubled their lead. India had some chances but in the final third, they were not clinical and failed to score any goal on the other hand Uzbekistan let India have possession in their final third but they kept the ball away from dangerous areas.

In extra time, Sherzod Nasrullaev received a cross from the right flanks and hit the shot in the post and the ball was still in play Indian defense did not react quickly and Nasrullaev scored from the rebound with an easy finish. Half-time ended Uzbekistan in front with a three-goal margin.

Second Half

Indian team has a mountain to climb in the second half. In the 50th minute, Rahul KP (substitute) shots rattled a crossbar ball rebound and came to Sunil Chhetri who took a shot but did not have a power Easy save for Utkir Yusupov. Indian Side misses chances to their finishing in the final third is not up to the mark. Indian team looks like they accepted the defeat. Uzbekistan now controlling the game with ease. Both teams don’t look to threaten each other. The match ended with a scoreline of 3-0 Uzbekistan Beat India and kept their chances alive to qualify for the Knockout.

India will face Syria on 23 January and Uzbekistan also have a match with Australia on 23 January.
