More than 60% voting in the third phase of Lok Sabha elections

More than 60% voting in the third phase of Lok Sabha elections ended today. In the third round, voting took place on 93 seats in 11 states and union territories. The fate of seven ministers including Home Minister Amit Shah and Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya was decided in the EVMs in this phase. Five former Chief Ministers including Digvijay Singh, Shivraj Singh Chauhan have also been in the fray in this phase of elections. The fate of SP chief Akhilesh Yadav’s wife and Mainpuri MP Dimple Yadav was also sealed in EVMs in this phase.

Of the 93 seats where voting took place, 66.89% voting was recorded in 2019. The highest turnout of 90.66% was recorded in Dhubri seat of Assam. The lowest voter turnout was 54.53% in Bhind seat of Madhya Pradesh.

The voting process for the Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh ended at 6 pm. Under the third phase, the fate of 100 candidates from Sambhal, Hathras (reserved), Agra (reserved), Fatehpur Sikri, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etah, Badaun, Amla and Bareilly seats was recorded in EVMs.

State Secondary Education Minister Gulab Devi cast her vote at the polling booth in SM Degree College. BJP’s Lok Sabha candidate Parmeshwar Lal Saini went to the polling booth located at BMG Degree College and cast his vote. The entire family of candidate Saini reached the polling booth together and everyone exercised their franchise.


A delegation of 15 members from six countries has come to Agra on behalf of the Election Commission of India to observe the election process in India. He inspected the election control room along with election related officials. Representatives from many African countries including Georgia and Uzbekistan learned about the election process. During this, everyone was honoured by giving them flowers. The delegates praised the fairness of the Indian elections after witnessing it.

Supporters of SP and BJP clashed with each other over voting in Himmatpur village of Bhamora area. Three people of one party got injured in the baton exchange between the two. Police has started investigation on the complaint letter given by one party. Some people of the same family of Himmatpur voted in support of BJP, while their third brother supported SP. A young man from the SP supporting family was going to vote, at the same time a young man from the other party commented against him. On doing so, sticks were used by both, in which three people from one party got injured. Police have talked about action after investigation.
