BJP leader and journalist shot dead in Jaunpur,A journalist was riddled with bullets in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh. Eyewitnesses say that 4 bullets were fired in his chest. On Monday morning, he had left home in Bullet for some work. It was during this time that the incident took place. There is tension in the area after the murder. Forces from several police stations have been called to the spot. There is anger among journalists regarding the incident. Ashutosh Srivastava (48), resident of Sabarhad of Shahganj police station area, used to run a YouTube channel. He often used to write news against cow smugglers and land mafia.
Some people say that he was also related to a party. In this matter, the police have registered the case and started investigation. According to the information received, at around 9.30 in the morning, Ashutosh Srivastava was going on Bullet to Imranganj market in the police station area for some work. As soon as he reached Imranganj intersection, some youth riding a bike stopped him on some pretext. As soon as the bullets stopped, the youth riding the bike started firing bullets. In this firing, Ashutosh was hit by several bullets in his chest and he fell there.
Hearing the sound of bullets, people ran in that direction but the miscreants ran away waving weapons. As soon as the news was received, the police team reached the spot. A team was deployed to catch the miscreants but remained empty handed.
Ashutosh was constantly irritating the cattle smugglers and land mafia with his news. He was also getting feedback continuously. And because of this, Ashutosh had already realized that there was an attack on him. It is learned that a month ago, he had appealed to CO Shahganj and Police Station Incharge Shahganj for protection of life and property. His request was not heeded.
