Lok Sabha Elections 2024 phase 6 Highlights: 58.82% voting till 5 pm, highest voting in Bengal at 78.19%

Lok Sabha Elections 2024 phase 6 Highlights, voting is on May 25 for a total of 58 seats in 6 states and 2 union territories. The candidates whose fate is at stake include many high-profile faces including Maneka Gandhi, Manohar Lal Khattar, Mehbooba Mufti, Raj Babbar, Dinesh Lal Nirahua, Dharmendra Yadav, Manoj Tiwari.

In the sixth phase of the seven-phase Lok Sabha elections 2024, today i.e. on May 25, voting is taking place on a total of 58 seats in 6 states and 2 union territories. 889 candidates are in the electoral fray in the sixth phase. In this phase, voting is taking place on 8 seats of Bihar, all 10 of Haryana, 4 of Jharkhand, all 7 of Delhi, 6 of Odisha, 14 of Uttar Pradesh, 8 of West Bengal and one seat of Jammu and Kashmir.

Uttar Pradesh received the highest number of nomination forms. 470 candidates are in the fray from 14 parliamentary constituencies. After this, in Haryana, 370 nominations have been received from 10 constituencies. Let us tell you that Lok Sabha elections are being held in seven phases till June 1, voting for five phases has already been completed. The counting of votes is to take place on June 4.

The fate of many prominent personalities is at stake in the sixth phase. These include Dharmendra Pradhan contesting from Sambalpur in Odisha, BJP’s Manoj Tiwari and Congress’s Kanhaiya Kumar from North East Delhi, BJP’s Maneka Gandhi from Sultanpur seat in Uttar Pradesh and PDP’s Mehbooba Mufti from Anantnag-Rajouri seat in Jammu and Kashmir.

The sixth phase of voting will also be held on BJP’s Abhijit Gangopadhyay from Tamluk in West Bengal, Manohar Lal Khattar from Karnal seat in Haryana, Naveen Jindal from Kurukshetra and Rao Inderjit Singh from Gurugram seat.


However, Voting continues from 7 am on all the seven Lok Sabha seats of Delhi, voting has ended. Here BJP is competing with the alliance of Aam Aadmi Party and Congress.

According to the Election Commission, till 5 pm, voting was 53.27 percent in Chandni Chowk seat of Delhi, 53.69 percent in East Delhi, 50.44 percent in New Delhi seat, 57.97 percent in North-East Delhi seat, 53.17 percent in North-West seat, 53.17 percent in South Delhi seat. 81.84 percent voting has been recorded and 54.15 percent voting has been recorded in West Delhi Lok Sabha seat.
