National Commission for Women wrote a letter to the Commissioner of Delhi, The court has rejected the bail plea of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s aide Bibhav Kumar in the Swati Maliwal assault case. He had filed a petition in Tis Hazari Court but the judge refused to grant him relief. Bibhav Kumar is accused of assaulting Swati Maliwal at the Chief Minister’s residence in Delhi on May 13.
Amid allegations of assault on Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal, the National Commission for Women has now written a letter to the Delhi Police Commissioner. The National Commission for Women (NCW) has claimed that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s former aide Bibhav Kumar was called to the Chief Minister’s residence after Swati Maliwal reached there. The Commission has sought information in this matter as to on whose instructions Bibhav, accused of misbehaving with AAP MP Swati Maliwal, was called.
NCW, in a letter written on Monday, said that ‘Earlier in a statement issued on May 13, 2024, it had taken suo motu cognizance of a media post that Swati Maliwal accused Arvind Kejriwal’s private secretary of assaulting her. . According to the news, former chairperson of Delhi Women Commission Maliwal alleged that Bibhav Kumar had attacked her.
NCW has revealed that Bibhav Kumar was called after Maliwal reached the Chief Minister’s residence. To clarify the circumstances under which and on whose instructions Kumar was called, the NCW has asked to examine the call detail records (CDR) of all the persons involved, including the Chief Minister.
The NCW has stressed the need to probe the CDR to find out who instructed Bibhav Kumar to visit the Chief Minister’s residence. Apart from this, NCW has stressed on strict action against those persons who are giving threats of rape and murder to Maliwal. NCW has asked to register a case against the accused under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and submit a comprehensive report of the action taken within three days.
