Box office collection of Mr. and Mrs. Mahi, Director Sharan Sharma’s film ‘Mr. and Mrs. Mahi’, released on Friday, seems to be getting huge benefit from the Cinema Lover’s Day celebrated across the country. Due to the ticket price of only Rs 99, a large number of people came to watch the cinema on Friday and the film has done a business of around Rs 7 crore till the last date of release on the very first day of its release. Although this earning of the film is mostly due to Janhvi Kapoor, this figure is also going to be deposited in the account of the film’s hero Rajkumar Rao.

Rajkumar Rao’s highest grossing film till date has been ‘Stree’. This film, released in the year 2018, had earned Rs 6.82 crore on the first day of its release. The first weekend of the film was Rs 31.26 crore and the film had earned Rs 60.39 crore in the first week itself. The total earning of the film at the domestic box office was Rs 129.90 crore and this is the only Rs 100 crore film of Rajkumar’s career.
The film ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi‘ is a family entertainer. Janhvi Kapoor’s acting in the film is being praised the most. Till now only three films of Janhvi Kapoor have been released in theatres. Although his debut film ‘Dhadak’ (2018) got an opening of Rs 8.71 crore, the film was not liked much by the audience. The total earning of this remake of Marathi film ‘Sairat’ at the domestic box office was only Rs 71.19 crore.
Sharan Sharma, director of the film ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi’, has earlier made ‘Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl’ with Janhvi. People also see the image of her mother Shri Devi in Janhvi Kapoor’s acting and she herself has been acting quite naturally in front of the camera. The film ‘Mr. and Mrs. Mahi’ has been produced by Karan Johar’s company Dharma Productions in collaboration with Zee Studios. Made with a budget of around Rs 40 crore, this film will have to earn around Rs 80 crore at the box office to get the title of hit.
