Actor Sahil Khan arrested in Mahadev betting app case

Actor Sahil Khan arrested in Mahadev betting app case. Mumbai Police has arrested actor Sahil Khan for his alleged involvement in the Mahadev betting app case. The Bombay High Court had rejected his plea for pre-arrest bail, after which he was arrested in Chhattisgarh by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Mumbai Cyber Cell.

Earlier, SIT had called Sahil and three others for questioning in December 2023, but they did not come. He claimed to be just a brand promoter under a contract with M/s. However, the police said that he was the co-owner of the app. He is being brought to Mumbai via Raipur. According to the police, he was a partner in Lotus App 247 and produced in the court on the afternoon of April 28.

Sahil told that his contract was for 24 months, in which he had to promote on social media. He was getting Rs 3 lakh monthly for posting videos. Despite this, the court rejected his bail plea citing his involvement in illegal operations. Known for his roles in the films ‘Style’ and ‘Excuse Me’, Sahil is now focusing on fitness.

In 2023, it was reported that the crime branch investigating the Mahadev Betting app case had called Sahil Khan and three others to record their statements on 15 December. However, Khan did not appear before the police for investigation but remained connected on social media during that period. He also posted a picture of himself sitting in the pool and captioned it, ‘Good morning, Jumma Mubarak.’ This made it appear that he had ignored the police summons.

According to IANS’ reports, officials said Sahil Khan, posing as a fitness expert and YouTuber, was allegedly promoting the app and getting more people to use it. After the action on betting and gaming apps, ED had simultaneously kept many Bollywood actors under investigation in this matter
