“Ae Watan Mere Watan” trailer out- all set to release on March 21 on Amazon Prime

Now Sara Ali Khan film is ready to be released on the OTT platform, named ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’. This movie will stream on the OTT platform Prime Video this month. Sara Ali Khan was last seen in ‘Zara Hatke Zara Bachke’ with Vicky Kaushal.

The trailer of Sara Ali Khan’s film ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’ has been released on March 4. Inspired by true events, this movie is based on the Quit India Movement of 1942, which shows the story of a very special and different aspect of India’s freedom struggle. You can watch this movie on OTT platform Prime Video this month.


This thriller-drama movie Ae Watan Mere Watan, filled with the spirit of patriotism, has been produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Somen Mishra. Made under the direction of Kannan Iyer, the story of this film has been written by Iyer and Darab Farooqui. In this, Sara Ali Khan is in the lead role, while Sachin Khedekar, Abhay Verma, Sparsh Srivastava, Alex O’Neil and Anand Tiwari have played important roles with special guest appearance of Emraan Hashmi.

Sara Ali Khan’s two back-to-back films ‘Murder Mubarak’ and ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’ are ready to release on digital platforms.

The story of the movie introduces the audience to a courageous 22-year-old girl named Usha, who runs an underground radio station and stands up for her country, bringing the country together against the British Raj during the Quit India Movement of 1942.

The trailer was shared by the official Instagram handle of Amazon Prime Video. The caption alongside the trailer read, “Rising from the shadows of history, a tale of unyielding courage emerges to witness the journey unfold in #AeWatanMereWatanOnPrime, Mar 21.”

Earlier, while talking about her experience during the film’s shoot, Sara Ali Khan told PTI, “In our film, there is a part where we call her a gumnaam nayak, an anonymous fighter because we don’t know her. She sacrificed so much and you don’t know who she is, that stands according to me, as a huge tale of sacrifice, strength and bravery. All this is prevalent in today’s times or at any time. So, it was definitely challenging and exciting too,” said the 27-year-old actor.

The trailer starts with a tense moment, in a room somewhere. People are present in a group somewhere in a hall. Everyone’s eyes are on the same side. Then a clock is seen in the frame, in which it is 8.25 o’clock. The tension increases with the background music of a ticking clock, in the scene a hand sets the frequency of the radio. The clock again appears in the frame and it is now 8:30.

It seems that some voice is about to come from this radio, and then the scene cuts to a girl. Sara Ali Khan looks in her character. Sitting in the crowd, listening to Mahatma Gandhi’s speech with full attention.

It becomes clear that ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’ is the story of the period when India was struggling for its independence. But then you think that this boy in this story…who is she?

Most of the big names that were part of the freedom struggle are recognized by the public of their country, to a little more or a little more. But the probability is that perhaps you will not immediately remember which real life personality the character of Sara matches with?

The date was 14 August 1942. People heard ‘Congress Radio’ for the first time on the radio’s wavelength of 42.34 meters and the location of this station was told as ‘somewhere in India’. This was the voice of a 22 year old girl, Usha Mehta. Whose character is being played by Sara Ali Khan in ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’. From that day onwards this radio program came twice a day, once in Hindi and once in English. But later it started coming only once a day, between 7:30 pm and 8:30 pm.
