Amit Shah addresses the rally, hits at the Congress party for failures in Assam.During the rally in Assam, Amit Shah lashed out at the opposition party Congress. He accused the earlier governments of ignoring the Northeast. Shah said that Congress may have forgotten, but the people of Assam can never forget how Jawaharlal Nehru had said Bye-Bye to Assam in 1962.

Amit Shah said that earlier Assam’s border with Bangladesh was open for infiltration. Then Modi government came at the center and Himanta Biswa Sarma government came here. Now we can say that infiltration has stopped. He alleged that the previous Congress governments in Assam did injustice to the state and a large number of youth were killed in different violent movements and militant incidents.

While addressing an election rally in Lakhimpur, Assam, Amit Shah fiercely attacked the opposition party Congress. He said that during the attack by China in 1962, the then PM Jawaharlal Nehru had said ‘bye-bye’ Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. The people of these states can never forget this. But now, China cannot occupy even an inch of our land. Even in Doklam, we pushed them back.

The Union Home Minister said that the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act has been removed from 80 percent areas of Assam. Earlier governments signed the Assam Treaty but did not implement the terms.

We signed the Bodo Treaty and within two years all the conditions were fulfilled. Taking aim at the Congress manifesto, Amit Shah has claimed that Muslim personal law has been supported in it.

While making the comparison, Amit Shah said that Himanta Biswa Sarma has stopped child marriage. Today, the development of the entire country as well as the North-East is at the centre. He appealed to the people to vote in favor of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidates on all the seats in the area. You have two options, either vote for Rahul Gandhi’s ‘India’ alliance or vote for PM Modi led Bharatiya Janata Party.

The Union Minister called upon the public to ensure the third term of the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre. Voting will be held in the first phase of Lok Sabha elections on April 19 in Lakhimpur, Assam. The north-eastern state will also go to polls in the second and third phases on April 26 and May 7 respectively. Counting of votes will take place on June 4.
