Arvinder Singh Lovely resigns from the post of Delhi Congress President

Arvinder Singh Lovely resigns from the post of Delhi Congress President Before the Lok Sabha elections, the Congress party has suffered a big setback in Delhi. Arvinder Singh Lovely has resigned from the post of Delhi Congress President. He has attributed the reason behind this to the alliance with Aam Aadmi Party.

Lovely says that Aam Aadmi Party was formed by blaming Congress, then how can there be an alliance with it? Arvinder Singh Lovely wrote while resigning, “The Delhi Congress unit was against the alliance with that party, which was formed on the sole basis of making false, fabricated and malicious allegations of corruption against the Congress Party. Despite this, the party decided to form an alliance with AAP in Delhi.”

Arvinder Singh Lovely was appointed to the post of Delhi Congress President in August 2023. Lovely, in his letter to Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge, said that all the unanimous decisions taken by senior leaders of Delhi Congress have been unilaterally vetoed by the AICC general secretary (Delhi in-charge).

He wrote, “Since my appointment as DPCC President, the AICC General Secretary (Delhi in-charge) has not permitted me to make any senior appointment in the DPCC. My desire to appoint an experienced leader as the Media Chief of the DPCC the request was clearly rejected. Today, the AICC general secretary (Delhi in-charge) has not allowed the DPCC to appoint all the block presidents in the city. As a result, there is currently no block president in more than 150 blocks in Delhi.”

The former DPCC president also informed that as per the alliance, Delhi Congress has been allotted three parliamentary seats to contest the current general elections. He also highlighted the comments made by the North-East Delhi candidate (Kanhaiya Kumar) for falsely praising the Delhi CM and supporting the work done by the Aam Aadmi Party in education, health, roads and power sectors.

He said, “Such wrong views and factually incorrect statements did not go down well with the local party unit, Because the local party workers had an implicit understanding that the alliance was not done to appreciate AAP‘s false propaganda of Delhi’s development and was in fact “a compromise (as part of the national alliance) of the party,” he said. “It was to improve the chances of victory.”
