Baby John is Ravi Varun’s first movie of the year; he was last seen in the Hindi movie “Rocky or Rani ki prem Kahani” in a cameo appearance in 2023.
Keerthy Suresh is a predominant South Indian actress playing the female protagonist in “Baby John” opposite Varun Dhawan. She was last seen in the Telugu movie film “Bhola Shankar”.
Varun Dhawan and Keerthy Suresh’s film has been titled ‘Baby John’. The film is directed by Kaleeswaran and presented by Atlee. ‘Baby John’ is the official Hindi remake of the Tamil film, ‘Theri’.
It is an action-drama movie in Hindi Language movie and has a multi-star cast of Sanya Malhotra, Wamiqa Gabbi, Keerthy Suresh, Jackie Shrauff, Kamlesh Sawant, Rajpal Yadav, Sheeba Chadha etcetera as main characters in the movie.
The teaser launched two days ago on YouTube and has over 10 million views on it. The teaser looks interesting and creates curiosity in the minds of audiences. The ‘biggest action entertainer of 2024’ has been titled Baby John. In the teaser, Varun is seen in an action avatar as he prepares to take on his enemies. The clip resembles a battlefield with weapons and fire around Varun’s character. He is seen sitting on a chair with guns around it, reaching the iron throne in Game of Thrones. Many traditional dancers are also featured in the teaser.
The film was announced in March 2022 under the tentative title of VD18, as it marked Dhawan’s 18th film. The official title was announced in February 2024. Principal photography commenced in August 2023. Filming locations include Mumbai and Kerala.

The plot of the movie is about a DCP who goes into hiding to bring up his daughter in a safe environment. However, after her life is threatened by deadly gangsters, he must face his past to protect his daughter.
Varun had been sharing a lot of updates from the set of the film. He also suffered a leg injury. Earlier, Varun posted a picture of his swollen leg on his Instagram stories.
Atlee’s Theri starred Vijay, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Amy Jackson in the lead role. The film received positive reviews and was also a box office success. It grossed Rs 150 crore against a budget of Rs 75 crore and emerged as the second highest-grossing Tamil film of 2016.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s role would be played by Keerthy Suresh whereas Wamiqa Gabbi is playing the role of Amy Jackson. Jackie shrauff is playing the main antagonist and Sanaya Malhotra will be seen in a special appearance. Also, Rajpal Yadav and Sheeba Chadha could be seen playing the pivotal roles in the movie.

The estimated budget of Baby John is around ₹50-100 Crore.
