Barcelona beats Unionistas de Salamanca CF 1 to reach the last of 8 of Copa Del Rey. Barcelona was hosted by the Unionistas at Campo de Futbol Reina Sofía Stadium. Barcelona did not play to the best of their abilities, but they won comfortably. Unionistas de Salamanca scored the first goal in the match, but they were not able to defend their lead. Barcelona responded before halftime in the second half of the game Unionistas Conceded two goals. Barcelona Reached the Quarterfinals of Copa Del Rey.

First Half

Barcelona’s coach Xavi Hernández picked a surprisingly strong lineup looking to kill the game off as early as possible. Barca came out with a good level of intensity and easily found spaces inside the Unionista’s defense with good passing and movement in midfield. In the 21st minute, Joao Felix found Marc Guiu unmarked in the box Marc Guiu took a shot, but Iván Martínez Marqués made a great save ball up over the ball for corner.

Second Half

In the early parts of the second half, both teams tried to control the pace of the match visiting team dominated ball possession but was not able to create clear-cut chances for their forwards in the 61st Minute Xavi brought Pedri, R.Lewandowski, and İlkay Gündoğan in Place of Marc Guiu, Fermín Lopez, João Felix from the bench. Catalans put more men forward and host under immense pressure. In the 69th minute, Jules Koundé receives a pass from Cubarsi (substitute), and Koundé’s fantastic Effort dips and swerves through the air finding the bottom right corner of the net. Barcelona takes a lead 2-1.

In the 73rd Minute, Jules Koundé passed the ball to Alejandro Balde who made a solo run toward a goal and Smashed the ball into the roof of the net from a tight angle Barcelona widened the gap with a 3-1 scoreline. Barcelona did not give any chances to Unionistas and kept the pressure on the host defensive unit. The match ended with Barcelona beating Unionistas 3-1 and reaching the last 8 of Copa Del Rey.
