Blue corner notice issued against Prajwal Revanna in Karnataka sex scandal case

Blue corner notice issued against Prajwal Revanna in Karnataka sex scandal case. Karnataka Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara said on Sunday that a Blue Corner Notice has been issued against Prajwal Revanna, accused of sexually assaulting several women. Interpol’s help is being taken to bring back the NDA candidate from Hassan Lok Sabha seat to India. In fact, a Blue Corner Notice is issued by the international police cooperation body to collect additional information from its member countries about the identity, location or activities of a person in relation to a crime.

The minister said that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed to probe the sex scandal will decide on how to bring Prajwal back. Prajwal’s father and JD(S) MLA HD Revanna, facing charges of molestation and kidnapping, was arrested by the SIT on Saturday. He has been arrested in a kidnapping case linked to allegations of sexual abuse against his son Prajwal. He was arrested soon after his anticipatory bail plea was rejected by a court here.

Revanna was taken to the SIT office in CID HQ on Palace Road for further procedure. He will be presented before the magistrate where the SIT will seek his custody for detailed interrogation after the completion of medical tests.

Siddaramaiah held an important meeting with SIT officials and directed that immediate action should be taken to arrest Prajwal Revanna. Following the instructions of the CM, the SIT had requested the CBI, the nodal body for Interpol cases in India, to issue a ‘Blue Corner Notice’. Blue Corner Notices are issued by the International Police Corporation body, and the appeals agency for the notices in India is the CBI. Through this, SIT will get additional information about Prajwal’s location and activities.

 What is Blue corner Notice?

A Blue Corner Notice is an international alert issued by Interpol to collect additional information about a person’s identity, location, or activities in relation to a crime. Unlike Red Notices, which are requests to locate and provisionally arrest someone pending extradition, Blue Corner Notices are used to gather information about a person’s identity or activities in relation to a crime. They are issued for a variety of reasons, including locating missing persons, identifying unknown persons, or gathering information on individuals who are potentially involved in criminal activities. Blue Corner Notices are not requests for the arrest or extradition of individuals, but rather for the purpose of collecting information to assist law enforcement agencies in their investigations.
