Box office collection of Sarfira and Indian 2: Akshay Kumar’s film gets slow start whereas Indian 2 earns over rs 25 cr.

Box office collection of Sarfira and Indian 2, As per the industry tracker Sacnilk, the Indian 2 has earned ₹25.6 on its first day despite negative reviews crores in India with a maximum in the Tamil version – ₹16.5 crore. In Hindi, the movie earned ₹1.2 crore and Telugu ₹7.9 crore. Indian 2 had an overall 55.62 (per cent) Tamil Occupancy on Friday with a maximum in Pondicherry (87.25 per cent). Shankar and Kamal Hasan are back with the sequel to their 1996 cult vigilante drama Indian after a long wait of 18 years.

In the film, Kamal Haasan revives the role of Senapathy, called ‘Indian Thatha’ lovingly by fans, who fights corruption, armed with the ancient martial art practice of India, ‘varma kalai.’ The music for the original film was by A R Rahman, while Anirudh composed the music for the sequel. Indian 2 is jointly produced by Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies. It also stars Siddharth, S J Suryah, Bobby Simha, Gulshan Grover and late Nedumudi Venu.

Akshay Kumar’s Sarfira, which released in theatres on Friday, earned around ₹ 2.40 crore India net on its first day, reported Sacnilk. Sarfira had an overall 13.08% Hindi Occupancy on Friday, July 12. Sarfira is the Hindi remake of the 2021 National Award winning Tamil film Soorarai Pottru, starring Suriya in the lead role. The film clashed with Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2 at the box office. Directed by Sudha Kongara, the film also stars Paresh Rawal, Radhikka Madan, Seema Biswas, R. Sarath Kumar, Saurabh Goyal, Krishnakumar Balasubramanian, Irawati Harshe Mayadev, Anil Charanjeett, Prakash Belawadi, Rahul Vohra.


Sarfira is Akshay Kumar’s 150th film. Sharing a special post on the film’s release date, the actor wrote on Instagram, “Sarfira means crazy and looking back I feel I would’ve been crazy had I not done this film. So I’m glad I did. This journey began almost 3 years back and it’s finally out for you all to witness and hopefully cherish. Sarfira is the story of a dream and the stubbornness to fulfil that dream, something we all can learn from. I’m so proud to be a part of this film and glad that Sarfira is my 150th film. I hope you get a chance to catch it cinemas soon. Sarfira is now all yours.”
