You must be knowing the names Chhota Rajan, Dawood Ibrahim. After him, gangster Prasad Pujari was considered the second form of fear in Mumbai. The job was to extort money from Bollywood film directors, producers or actors from foreign soil by giving death threats and operate the gang from there, although he had also been a member of Chhota Rajan gang. Many serious cases including murder, extortion and kidnapping are registered against him in Mumbai. He had left Mumbai many years ago. It is known that Gangster Pujari alias Subhash Vittal Pujari alias Siddharth Shetty alias Siddhu alias Siddh alias Johnny Gangster is also a member of the gang of Kumar Pillai and Chhota Rajan. He was living in China for many years and was arrested there last year. The Crime Department of Mumbai Police was continuously trying to bring him back to the country. Pujari, who is married to a Chinese national, was living in Shenzhen with his wife and child at the time of his arrest.
Police said that acting on the basis of secret information received from Interpol, Pujari was arrested in Hong Kong in March last year with a fake passport. He was caught when he was preparing to board a plane from Hong Kong to Shenzhen (city of China).
The Crime Department said that Pujari is wanted in eight serious cases including alleged firing, extortion and murder in Mumbai. He is a resident of Tagore Nagar in Vikhroli and had fled abroad years ago. He told that he allegedly used to target builders and businessmen in East Mumbai. In December 2019, Pujari’s name also came up in the case of firing on Shiv Sena worker Chandrakant Jadhav, living in Vikhroli area.

In 2020, the Mumbai Police Crime Branch had arrested Pujari’s mother Indira Vitthal Pujari in a case of extortion from a builder in Vikhroli. This action was taken against Indira under the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA) for allegedly extorting Rs 10 lakh from a developer.

He said that Pujari used to make extortion calls to businessmen and prominent people from international phone numbers and had given permission to kill some prominent film directors, producers and Bollywood actors. His gang is very active in Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai areas. Mumbai Police arrested him in cases registered against him at Vikhroli police station under relevant sections including 307 (attempt to murder), 120-B (conspiracy) and MCOCA.
An official said that Mumbai Crime Branch officials have brought gangster Prasad Pujari from China to Mumbai on Friday. In 2020, the Mumbai Police Crime Branch had arrested gangster Prasad Pujari’s mother Indira Vittal Pujari in an extortion case.
Gangster Pujari has several charges registered against him for murder and threatening people in Mumbai. Prasad Pujari had fled to China, escaping from Mumbai Police and Crime Branch. After this Interpol had issued a Red Corner Notice against him. According to the police, 62-year-old Indira and two others were accused of demanding ransom of Rs 10 lakh from a builder in Mumbai. The two arrested accused were identified as Sunil Angane (56) and Sukesh Kumar (28).
This is a new achievement of Indian Police and they have assured that they will nab all the criminals one by one to ensure harmonious environment.
