Kejriwal was released from Delhi’s Tihar Jail on May 10, 50 days after he was jailed on corruption charges linked to the alleged liquor policy scam and hours after the Supreme Court granted him bail till June 1.According to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), after his arrest, the Delhi Chief Minister’s weight has reduced by 7 kg and his ketone level is high, which could be a sign of some serious disease. The party further said that doctors had advised the AAP convenor to undergo positron emission tomography and computed tomography (PET-CT) scan and some other medical tests, due to which Kejriwal has sought extension of his interim bail.

After his release from jail, Kejriwal has joined India Bloc’s campaign for the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. On March 21, a few days after the announcement of the election schedule for the general elections, the Enforcement Directorate had arrested Kejriwal in the excise policy case. The Delhi CM’s bail is applicable till June 1 and Kejriwal will have to surrender before the authorities on June 2. He can participate in the election campaign, but cannot be present in his office as Chief Minister.

While granting interim bail to Kejriwal, the top court imposed certain conditions that he will not interact with any witness or have access to any official file related to the case. The bench had ordered that he would not make any comments regarding his role in the present case. “He will be bound by the undertaking given by him that he will not sign on official files unless it is necessary and necessary to obtain the nod/approval of the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi,” the order said. ‘
