Actor Rajkummar Rao’s “Srikanth”, a biopic on visually impaired industrialist Srikanth Bolla, will hit the screens on May 10, the makers announced on Saturday. The film, which was earlier titled “Sri”, is directed by Tushar Hiranandani from a script written by Jagdeep Sidhu and Sumit Purohit.

Bollywood actor Rajkumar Rao has also joined the biopic race. He will be seen in the film ‘Srikanth’ with South superstar Surya’s wife and actress Jyothika. With this movie, the actress is returning to the Hindi world after 22 years. He was last seen in the 2001 film ‘Little John’. Now the first glimpse of this movie has been released.


Rajkummar Rao will be seen playing the role of famous industrialist Shrikant Bola in his biopic. In the first look of this movie that has been revealed, the actors are seen running on the road. The title of this movie is written in English and Braille script. Rajkummar Rao never disappoints with his acting and once again everyone is waiting for the film after seeing his character.

The film was earlier titled ‘Shree’ and was scheduled to release on September 15, 2023. But now it will be released on May 10, 2024 and it will have a huge clash with ‘Kalki AD 2898’. Srikant Bola is the founder of Bolant Industries. He is the first international blind student in Management Sciences at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He was born in 1991 in Sitapuram, Machilipatnam city of Andhra Pradesh. He is born handicapped. There was no light in his eyes since childhood. His family used to survive by farming. After 10th, he did 12th from science side. However, permission for this was not granted. He filed a case to study science. After waiting for 6 months he got permission to study this subject at his own risk and he proved himself and topped with 98%.

Due to being disabled, Srikant did not get admission in the coaching institutes of IIT. After this he took admission in Massachusetts Institute of Technology and became the first international blind student. After this he got good offers in the corporate sector in America. But he was planning to do something new and unique in India itself. In 2005, he joined ‘Lead India 2020: The Second National Youth Movement’ as a youth leader and became its member.
