Former PM of the country Manmohan Singh has retired from Rajya Sabha today. On his retirement, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge wrote an emotional letter. In which he said that now you will not be in Rajya Sabha and are retiring from active politics. However, even after this your voice will continue to be raised for the people of the country. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge wrote in the letter – When you are retiring from the Rajya Sabha today after serving for more than three decades, an era has come to an end.

Very few people can say that they have served our country with more dedication and devotion than you. Very few people have worked as much as you for the country and its people. It is a personal privilege for me to be a part of your Cabinet.


Over the last 10 years, while I have been the leader of the Congress Party in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha, you have always been a source of wisdom and someone whose advice I value. Over the years, you have made sure to remain available to the Congress Party despite personal inconveniences. The party and I will always be grateful for this.

Along with former PM Manmohan Singh, 54 members of Rajya Sabha are retiring on Tuesday and Wednesday. On April 3, former Congress President Sonia Gandhi will enter the Rajya Sabha. Let us tell you that Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Minister Parshottam Rupala, Minister of State for Information Technology Rajiv Chandrashekhar, Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Minister Narayan Rane and Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting L. Murugan’s Rajya Sabha tenure completed on Tuesday.
