Indian citizen kidnapped in Turkey, three Pakistanis arrested, ransom of Rs 20 lakhs demanded. Turkish police on Sunday announced that they have arrested three Pakistanis for kidnapping an Indian national in Edirne city. Police said the kidnappers had demanded 2 million Indian rupees, equivalent to $24,000, from the Indian man’s family. Turkish media said that a young Indian named Radhakrishnan had come to Turkey for work. He used to wash dishes in a restaurant in Istanbul.

According to reports, about a month ago, three Pakistani asylum seekers lured Radhakrishnan to Edirne on the pretext of getting him a job at a translation company and then kidnapped him. A friend of the young man contacted the Turkish police, after which the country’s security officials rescued him from a house in Edirne through an operation.

Turkish police told the media that the kidnappers had tied the young man’s hands and legs and threatened his family by sending a video. According to reports, during a Turkish police crackdown on the house of Pakistani asylum seekers, an unlicensed gun, four pistols and some money were found and confiscated. In this incident, a Turkish citizen with a criminal record has been arrested on charges of harboring the kidnappers.

Every year a large number of Pakistani citizens go to Turkey to seek refuge. However, since he is a Pakistani, the Turkish people are unable to trust him. Due to this, Pakistanis face difficulty in getting work in Turkey. Due to this, Pakistanis taking refuge get involved in small crimes and later commit major criminal incidents.
