Is the US ambassador lying about India, Western countries had imposed heavy sanctions on Russia. America had excluded Russia from the Swift payment system. Not only this, the western countries led by America kept trying their best to ensure that no one could buy oil from it. But India still bought oil from Russia. Now the American Ambassador to India is making a strange claim. Eric Garcetti has said that India bought Russian oil because we wanted someone to buy Russian oil.
We did not want the price of oil to increase. However, it is difficult to believe his statement. It is believed that India did not come under pressure from America, due to which Garcetti is now busy in building the image of his country through such statements.

Since the Crane War, western countries have been pressurizing India not to buy crude oil from Russia. Whenever Indian Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar has visited western countries, the issue of buying Russian oil has been raised. Western countries have always tried to bring India under moral pressure. Now the American Ambassador’s statement that America wanted India to buy oil from Russia seems to be no less than a ‘lie’. Dr. Jaishankar himself has been saying that India was under constant pressure not to buy oil from Russia.
The US envoy to India Eric Garcetti has made a bizarre claim that New Delhi has been buying so much Russian oil, because that’s what Washington wanted. The gaffe also flies in the face of the West’s own sanctions against Moscow, that actually aimed to strangle Russia’s exports. pic.twitter.com/oeBDE8egq2

Dr. Jaishankar said in a recent statement, ‘There was pressure on us not to take oil from Russia. Suppose we had given in and not taken oil from Russia. So tell me how much the price of petrol will increase. It would have been costlier by at least Rs 20 more per litre. Not only this, this question was also asked to Dr. Jaishankar during a panel discussion at the Munich Security Conference in February. During that time, US Foreign Minister Antony Blinken was also on the stage. The question arises that if this was America’s policy then why Blinken not made a statement like Garcetti.
Eric Garcetti is trying to show in his statements that America did not want the price of oil to increase in the world. However, what Garcetti is saying today, Dr. Jaishankar has been repeating for a long time. Dr. Jaishankar had said that he would explain to his western colleagues that if they did not buy oil from Russia, its price would increase in the international market. According to a report, India’s Russian oil imports have reached the highest level in nine months in April. Because Russian refining capacity has been partially affected due to Ukrainian drone attacks, Russia has had to focus on exporting oil.
