Israel strikes Iran consulate in Syria’s capital Damascus, Iran vows to revenge.
The Jihadists were the link between Iran and Lebanon’s Hezbollah. Till now, Iran has not directly entered into the war between Israel and Hamas, but due to the killing of the Jihadi, there is a possibility of a counterattack from Iran’s side.
There is a war going on between Israel and the Palestinian organization Hamas (Israel-Hamas War) since October 7. Other countries like Iran and Lebanon have also jumped into this war. Meanwhile, on Monday (April 1), an Iranian embassy building was targeted in Syria’s capital, Damascus. These attacks were carried out by Israel. Syria’s state news agency SANA said the Israeli strike targeted a building of the Iranian Consulate in Mazeh, near Damascus.

According to the information of news agency ‘Reuters’, 5 diplomats including Iran Revolutionary Guard (IRG) commander Mohammad Reza Jahadi have died in these attacks.
Iranian media reported that the attacks in Damascus completely destroyed a building in the complex. Iran’s ambassador to Damascus, Hossein Akbari, and his family were not harmed in the Israeli attack.
“The attacks were carried out by F-35 fighter planes. At least five people were killed,” Iran’s ambassador to Damascus, Hossein Akbari, said in an interview broadcast on state TV. However, Iran’s ambassador did not reveal the source of his information about the plane.
Before this, Israel had attacked Hezbollah, a terrorist organization operating from Lebanon. Since the beginning of the war, Lebanon has been continuously supporting Hamas and carrying out missile attacks on Israel. In response to which the Israeli Defense Force retaliated against several targets including the launch site of Hezbollah.
After the start of the Israel-Hamas war, India conducted ‘Operation Ajay’ and evacuated Indian citizens trapped in Israel. The purpose of this mission was to help those Indians who wanted to return to their country.
