Mahmoud Al-Mardi played the left wing-back and Ihsan Haddad played the right wing-back position. Noor Al-Rawabdeh and Rajaei Ayed are in the center midfield position. Musa Al-Taamari and Ali Olwan were playing as center-attacking midfielders. Yazan Al-Naimat playing in the center-forward position. Hussein Ammouta selected a 3-4-2-1 formation in this match.

Jordan beats Tajikistan 1-0 to Reach Semi-Finals of the AFC Asia Cup
First Half
In the early minutes of the match, both teams played cautiously they were trying to hold their nerves. In the 4th minute, Yazan Al-Naimat found a space on the edge of the box, and it was within his range, but his shot went wide of the near post. In the 15th minute, Shervoni Mabatshoev from the right side delivers a low cross, Ehson Panjshanbe slides at the near post, but the effort loops off a scuffed connection before rebounding back off the bar.
In the 29th minute, Tajikistan made a first change, Rustam Soirov came from the bench in place of the Injured Shahrom Samiev. In the 30th minute, Mahmoud Al-Mardi crosses from the left, and Yazan Al-Naimat slides at the back post but his effort falls on the wrong side of the post. In the 33rd minute, Manuchekhr Safarov tried his luck from 30 yards, but his shot went straight to Yazid Abu Layla.
In the 36th minute, Ali Olwan had some space at the edge of the box he drove his shot straight in the middle and Rustam Yatimov parried it back into play. Rajaei Ayed pounced at the rebound, but he was in an offside position. The first half ended with a 0-0 scoreline. Jordan came close to scoring the goals, but they wasted their chances.
Second-Half
Both teams do not make any changes during the halftime break. Possession of the ball is almost the same between both teams. In the 52nd Minute, Alisher Shukurov tried to score a goal from 25 yards distance, but his shot was way over the bar. In the 55th minute, Musallam Nasib lost possession just outside of Jordan’s box by Shervoni Mabatshoev but Mabatshoev did not find his body balance right his shot went wide of the goal.
In the 66th minute, Jordan had a corner, Mahmoud Al-Mardi swung in a corner, and it was met by the head of Abdallah Mousa Musallam Nasib. He only skims it though and the ball is deflected into his own net by Vakhdat Khanonov.

Jordan after taking a lead still trying to find another goal, they keep pressure on the Tajikistan Defense line. Salem Al-Ajalin and Ali Olwan took a yellow card they will miss the semi-final match due to suspension. Jordan put solid defensive performance to win this match 1-0. They reached the semi-finals of the AFC Asia cup for the first time.
