Maniratnam next Movie Thug Life is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language action drama film directed by Mani Ratnam, who co-wrote the script with Kamal Haasan, and produced by Raaj Kamal Films International, Madras Talkies and Red Giant Movies
The film marks the reunion of famous ‘Nayakan’ duo Kamal Haasan and director Mani Ratnam after 37 years.
The film was officially announced in November 2022 under the tentative title KH 234, as it is Haasan’s 234th film as the leading actor, and the official title was announced in November 2023.
The star studded cast includes Kamal Hassan as Rangaraya Sakthivel Nayakar, Trisha Krishnan,Duquer Salman, Jayam Ravi, Silambarasan, Nassar, Ali Fazal, Sanya Malhotra, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhirami, Nasser, Gautham Karthik, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and Joju George, with AR Rahman composing the music.
Thug Life is expected to release in theatres in 2024. Fans are eagerly waiting for the makers to announce the release date of the film along with other updates. This is Silambarasan’s second collaboration with Mani Ratnam after Chekka Sivantha Vaanam, and his second project with Kamal Haasan too.

In the teaser, Silambarasan was seen riding a car on the dunes of a desert. At the end, the actor smiles while pointing towards the camera. The actor is expected to play the role of a cop in the movie as he was seen riding a police car in the video.
On the work front, Silambarasan has appeared in several films and shows including Pathu Thala, Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, Eeswaran, Manmadhan, Idhu Namma Aalu and Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada among others. “Thug Life” marks his 49th film.
Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan will next be seen in Kalki 2898 AD. The film stars Prabhas, Disha Patani, Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan in key roles. It will hit theatres on June 28 this year. He will also be seen in Indian 2 alongside SJ Suryah, Rakul Preet Singh, Siddharth and Kajal Aggarwal.
