BJP leader Mohan Charan Majhi will be the new Chief Minister of Odisha. Mohan Charan Majhi was elected leader in the party legislature party meeting in Bhubaneswar. He will take oath as the new Chief Minister of Odisha on June 12. Along with Mohan Charan Majhi, two MLAs will take oath as Deputy CM. The names of KV Singh Dev and Parvati Parvati Parida have been finalized for Deputy CM. Both these leaders were also involved in the race for the post of Chief Minister.The BJP had appointed Bhupendra Yadav as observers along with Defense Minister Rajnath Singh to elect the legislature party leader.

BJP is forming government for the first time in Odisha. In such a situation, Mohan Charan Majhi has got the honor of becoming the first Chief Minister of BJP in the state. In the assembly elections, BJP has surprisingly secured 78 seats alone. The majority figure in the 147-member assembly is 74 members. Biju Janata Dal, which has been in power in the state for the last 24 years, has got 51 seats, while Congress has got 14 seats. The time for swearing in of Mohan Chandra Majhi has been fixed at 5 o’clock on Wednesday.
Mohan Charan comes from the Majhi tribal community. He is the youngest among all the contenders in the race for the post of Chief Minister. Majhi is 53 years old.
BJP has invited BJD President and outgoing Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for the swearing-in of its first government in Odisha. The first invitation card of the ceremony was given to Lord Jagannath. A five-member delegation led by BJP Odisha unit president Manmohan Samal went to Patnaik’s residence Naveen Niwas and formally invited him to attend the swearing-in ceremony to be held at 5 pm on Wednesday. Samal was also accompanied by senior leaders like Suresh Pujari, Basant Panda, Sameer Mohanty and Nityanand Gond.
