After four months of journey, Bigboss 17 has finally come to an end where Munawar Faruqui lifts the Bigboss 17 Trophy and Abhishek Kumar emerged as first runner-up.
Ankita Lokhande, Arun Mahashetty, Mannara Chopra, Munawar Faruqui, and Abhishek Kumar were finalists. Mannara Chopra became the second runner-up.
The start studded finale night was hosted by Salman Khan along with co-hosts Bharti, Hrash, Krishna, Orry, and Sudesh. Host Salman Khan called both the finalists, Abhishek Kumar and Munawar Faruqui, and he after creating much suspense finally lifted Munawar’s hand high.
BB17 winner Munawar Faruqui got a cash price of 50 lakhs and a brand-new Hyundai Creta Car. Munawar Faruqui wins Bigg Boss 17 after a transformative journey with fights, controversies, and personal revelations. Munawar’s catchphrase ‘tujhe tunnel tak chhod ke aunga’ became very famous. He had many ups and downs and formed close relationships with Abhishek Kumar and had a major fight with Vicky Jain.

The six-hour-long episode opened up with comedians Bharti Singh and Krushna Abhishek. Later they were joined by several popular celebrities and performers including Abdu Rozik, Sudesh Lehri, and Harsh Limbachiyaa, among others.
On the grand finale episode, Suniel Shetty and Madhuri Dixit also graced the stage with the host Salman Khan. They arrived on the show to promote their upcoming TV dance reality show titled Dance Deewane.
Apart from them, Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan also joined Salman and eliminated Arun Mashettey. Both the stars came to promote their upcoming supernatural thriller titled Shaitaan.
The second elimination of the night shook show’s fans when Ankita Lokhande got evicted from the BB House and finished at the 4th position.
The next elimination took Mannara Chopra out of the finale race.
Soon after Mannara’s eviction, Abhishek and Munawar were asked to come out through the tunnel to the stage where host Salman Khan announced the winner.
Who is Munawar Faruqui?
Munawar Iqbal Faruqui is an Indian stand-up comedian born in Junagarh, Gujarat on Januray 28, 2024. He gained attention for his work in the field of comedy. However, he also faced controversy and legal issues related to his performances.
Faruqui was arrested in January 2021 in the city of Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India, after a complaint was filed against him for allegedly making inappropriate remarks about Hindu deities during one of his shows. The arrest led to debates about freedom of expression and censorship in the country.
On 5 November 2022, he did a Punjabi song named “Todh” along with Prince Narula and Rony Ajnali.

In Bigg Boss, his ex-partner Ayesha Khan accused him of two-timing her and Nazila Sitaishi and being involved with multiple women. Subsequently, on 18 December 2023, Sitaishi broke up with him on Instagram live, accusing him of cheating.
In 2022, he became a contestant on Balaji Telefilms’s reality television show Lock Upp, hosted by Kangana Ranaut.On 8 May 2022, he was declared the show’s winner. The show was streamed on OTT platforms ALTBalaji and MX Player.
Munawar Faruqui’s Arrest and controversy
Munawar Faruqui was on his tour where he was performing comedy in different cities of India. On 1 January 2021, he performed a stand-up show at Munro Cafe in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, which was interrupted by Eklavya Singh Gaur, son of BJP MLA Malini Gaur[accusing him of making malicious jokes about Hindu deities and the Minister of Home Affairs of India, Amit Shah On 2 January, he was arrested by Madhya Pradesh Police in the midst of his comic act, stating that he was arrested under the Hate speech laws in India. The police however, had no evidence against Munawar, still arrested him?
His arrest was heavily criticised for not respecting a comedian’s freedom of speech, including by a joint initiative of the global Indian diaspora on 2 February 2021, which said a group of South Asian American stand-up comedians will perform a virtual comedy show on 6 February 2021 to show their solidarity with jailed Faruqui. He was subsequently granted bail by the Supreme Court of India. He spent 37 days in the jail
