National boxer turned sharpshooter, The Special Cell of Delhi Police has arrested an active sharpshooter of the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang. He used to commit crimes including murder on the orders of gang leaders based in Dubai.

Officials said on Friday that the accused sharpshooter is a former national boxer. The gangster has been identified as Abhinav Verma alias Boxer, resident of Vikaspuri. Abhinav was wanted in two cases of firing on businessmen in Delhi to extort money.

DCP Amit Kaushik of Special Cell said that on March 27, specific information was received that Rohit Godara, Hasim Baba and a member of Kala Jathedi (Lawrence Bishnoi gang) had gone to DDA Sports Park in Sector 3, Rohini to meet their associates for further action.


Acting on the basis of secret information, the police laid a trap and caught Abhinav Verma.

The DCP said that during the search, a country-made pistol and two bullets were recovered from him. Apart from this, two more modern pistols, one revolver and 10 live cartridges were recovered on his spot. Abhinav Verma was arrested in 2012 for the murder of his schoolmate in Paschim Vihar.

DCP said that he remained in jail for 6 years. He came in contact with Hasim Baba and his close associate Ashish alias Kalu and joined their gang. After coming out on bail, Abhinav Verma started committing crimes for this gang.

The DCP said that after the arrest of other sharpshooters of the gang, he became the main sharpshooter of this gang. Abhinav Verma went to jail again in 2021. After coming out, he started working for Ashish, Hasim Baba and Kala Jathedi.

During interrogation, it was revealed that a person named Ashish was running the notorious Goldie Brar, Lawrence Bishnoi gang from Dubai.
