Pappu Yadav should withdraw his nomination, Bihar Congress’s ultimatum to the independent candidate from Purnia.

Pappu Yadav has contested as an independent candidate from Purnia seat of Bihar. This seat is in the quota of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) in the Grand Alliance. RJD’s Bima Bharti is the opposition alliance’s candidate from this seat, but Pappu Yadav’s nomination has increased the tension of the grand alliance. Congress, which was silent till now regarding Pappu Yadav’s nomination, has now reacted.

Bihar Congress has given an ultimatum to Pappu Yadav asking him to withdraw his nomination as an independent candidate. Bihar Congress President Akhilesh Pratap Singh has said that no one should file independent nomination. He bluntly said that the Congress high command will not allow anyone to do all these things.


The Bihar Congress President also said that there are more people who did not get tickets. He said that the Congress party does not accept such things. Bihar Congress President said that there is still time left to withdraw the nomination. Pappu Yadav should withdraw his nomination.

It is noteworthy that RJD candidate Bima Bharti had filed nomination from Purnia seat on April 3. The very next day of nomination for Bima, Pappu Yadav filed the nomination as an independent. Pappu Yadav cheered the Congress, claiming that he had made the nomination only with the blessings of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.

Earlier, while announcing his nomination from Purnia seat, Pappu Yadav had requested Congress not to take any action against him. Let us tell you that while announcing the merger of his party with Congress, Pappu Yadav had said that he will contest elections from Purnia seat on Grand Alliance ticket.
