PM Modi inaugurates start-up Mahakumbh at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. He said that today the country is working on the roadmap for a developed India of 2047. Today the whole world is seeing the potential of India’s youth power. Relying on this potential, the country has taken several steps towards building a startup ecosystem.

While addressing the Startup Mahakumbh, PM Modi said that in the last decades, India has left its mark in the IT and software sector. Now we are seeing the trend of innovation and startup culture continuously increasing in India.

He said that many people launch start-ups, but in politics it happens a lot and one has to launch them again and again. The difference between you and them is that you people are experimental, if one doesn’t launch then you immediately move on to the other.

The Prime Minister further said that if India has emerged today as a new hope, a new force for the global start-up space, then there has been a well-thought-out vision behind it. India has taken the right decisions at the right time. Started work on start-up at the right time.

PM said- ‘Today, India’s startup revolution is being led by the youth of small towns of the country. I am happy that today startups in agriculture, textile, medicine, transport, space and even yoga and Ayurveda have started.

PM Modi said in the Startup Mahakumbh, ‘Now we are in a new era related to AI technology. I take a lot of help from AI, when there is a language barrier in the election campaign; I take the help of AI to convey my message to the people in every language.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday morning addressed Startup Mahakumbh event, where thousands of prospective entrepreneurs, investors, and business visitors were present. The focus of his address was on the government’s initiatives to enhance emerging sectors like deeptech, agritech, biotech, medtech, and AI.


The Startup Mahakumbh is being held from March 18-20 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The event is organized jointly by apex industry associations, Bootstrap Incubation & Advisory Foundation and Indian Venture and Alternate Capital Association (IVCA). It is supported by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).

Last month, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal discussed the event, highlighting that Indian startups are revolutionizing industries and becoming the cornerstone of the country’s economy. He emphasized that aligning an aspirational India with the startup ecosystem will drive economic growth during the period leading up to India’s 100 years of Independence, termed Amrit Kaal, aiming to transform India into a developed nation by 2047.

The event has so far attracted participation from leading investors, innovators and aspiring entrepreneurs while hosting over 2,000 startups, over 1,000 investors, more than 100 unicorns, 300 incubators and accelerators, 3,000 delegates, 3,000 future entrepreneurs and over 50,000 business visitors from across the country, the commerce and industry ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.

The PM said that India’s startup ecosystem was not limited to just metro cities; it has now become a social culture. He said that India is preparing roadmap to become a developed country and that it took right decision at the right time.

“The world sees the capability of Indian youth. Trusting their capabilities, we decided to fuel their aspirations. We have transformed people’s thinking; instead of being a job-seeker, the youth is now keen on becoming a job-provider,” PM Modi said.

The space sector, which was once in shackles of the government, now has over 50 startups, he said. India today is the world’s 3rd largest startup ecosystem, the Prime Minister added.
