It is known that after the end of the election campaign in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Modi meditated in the cave of Kedarnath. Earlier in the afternoon, Modi, clad in dhoti and white shawl, offered prayers at the Amman temple and circumambulated the sanctum sanctorum. The priests performed a special aarti and gave him temple offerings, which included a shawl and a framed photograph of the main deity of the temple.

After this Modi reached Rock Memorial and started his meditation in ‘Dhyana Mandapam’. Before starting the meditation, Prime Minister Modi stood for some time on the stairs leading to the Mandapam, from where a breathtaking view of the sea surrounds the memorial. Before leaving Kanyakumari after the meditation on June 1, Modi is likely to visit the statue of Tamil poet Thiruvalluvar located next to the memorial.
Meanwhile, tight security arrangements have been made in view of Modi’s 45-hour meditation program at the famous memorial named after Swami Vivekananda. 2,000 policemen as well as various security agencies are keeping an eye on every nook and corner. Not only this, the Indian Coast Guard and the Indian Navy are also maintaining surveillance on the maritime borders.
