First Half

In the early minutes of the match, Mumbai City FC created pressure on Punjab FC. Punjab taking some time to settle down and Mumbai City dominating possession in the opponents’ Half. In the 11th minute, Punjab was on attack Luka Majcen Headed a pass to the striker Madih Talal who took a shot from the right side of the box and forced Phurba Lachenpa to make a save.

In the 16th minute of the match, Bipin Singh’s Shot was saved by Ravi Kumar but nothing was done about the rebound and Lallianzuala Chhangte scored a goal with his left foot from the center of the box. Mumbai City FC took a one-goal lead in this match.

In the 26th minute, Ricky Shabong played a pass to Luka Majcen who took a shot from outside the box but Phurba Lachenpa was fully prepared and made another save. Both teams tried their best to score a goal but their efforts were coming short in front of the goal.

In the 37th minute, Wilmar Jordán Gil found Madih Talal on the left side of the box and he struck the ball with his right foot and found the top right corner of the net. Punjab FC drew on level terms with Mumbai City FC.


In the 39th minute, Madih Talal delivered a precise cross towards Wilmar Jordan Gil who connected with a perfect header and Punjab made their comeback they were leading 2-1 at the end of the first half in Jawaharlal Nehru stadium.

Second Half

During the halftime break, Mumbai made a change they brought Hmingthanmawia from the bench in place of Rahul Bheke. In the 47th minute of the match, Lallianzuala Chhangte had a chance to equalize but his shot went wide from the target.

In the 53rd minute, Bipin Singh took a shot from the center of the box Ravi Kumar made a save but nothing can he do about the rebound and Iker Guarrotxena scored the equaliser on the rebound. A scrappy goal for the visitors but they will take it.

Mumbai City attacking relentlessly they were looking for third and Punjab FC’s defensive unit was under immense pressure. In the 64th Minute, Jayesh Rane played a brilliant through pass to Iker Guarrotxena who finished the ball into the net and this match turned around once again in favor of Mumbai FC.

Punjab FC were not looking to score a goal against the Mumbai City. Mumbai City’s defensive unit protected their box very carefully and they were hard to break at the back in the second half.

The Referee blew the full-time whistle Mumbai City won this match 3-2 against Punjab FC and earned three valuable points in their telly.
