Qatar Vs Iran: Qatar Advanced into the final of the AFC Asia Cup

Qatar Vs Iran football match ended with Qatar winning this match by 3-2 in the semi-finals of the AFC Asia Cup at Al Thumama Stadium. Iran scored a goal in the early minutes of the first half and Qatar replied with 2 goals in the first half.

Iran Drew level terms with Qatar from plenty spot in the 51st minute of the match and Almoez Ali scored a winner in the 83rd minute. It was an end-to-end highly entertaining match for the fans. Qatar will face Jordan in the Finals of the AFC Asia Cup at Lusail Stadium on 10th February.

Iran team starting eleven

Iran coach Amir Ghalenoei picked Alireza Beiranvand as a first-choice keeper. Hossein Kanaanizadegan and Shojae Khalilzadeh as center backs. Ramin Rezaeian is right side back and Ehsan Hajsafi is left side back. Omid Ebrahimi and Saeed Ezatolahi are playing in the Mid-field. Alireza Jahanbakhsh is right-wing and Mehdi Taremi is left-wing. Saman Ghoddos is playing as a center-attacking midfielder. Sardar Azmoun is playing as a center forward. Amir Ghalenoei chose a 4-2-3-1 formation in this match.

First Half

Qatar playing in maroon color and Iran playing in white. There was strong home support for Qatar in the stadium. In the early minutes, Iran was on the attack. In the 4th minute of the match, Mehdi Taremi won the throw in the right side of the opponent’s box, and Sardar Azmoun received a pass in the near post and he produced a brilliant overhead kick to leave the keeper and the defense as spectators. In the 17th minute, Jassem Gaber Abdulsallam took a shot from outside the box it took a little deflection and the ball went over Alireza Beiranvand into the net. Qatar drew in level terms. In the 32nd minute, Akram Afif took a shot from the center of the box but his effort went over the bar.

In the 43rd Minute, Qatar was on the attack, Ahmed Fatehi Found Akram Afif on the left flank, Akram Afif drifted into the area and took right footed shot from the left side of the box to the bottom right corner. Qatar leading this match by 2-1 in the scoreline. The first half ended 2-1 it was High voltage game so far both teams were looking for goals.

Second Half

Iran made two substitutions in  half-time break they brought Mohammad Mohebi and Milad Mohammad in place of Ehsan Hajsafi and Omid Ebrahimi. In the early Minutes of the second half, Iran won the corner, Saeed Ezatolahi’s shot was blocked by Ahmed Fatehi but the referee checked on the VAR system and Gave plenty to Iran Because Ahmed Fatehi’s Hand was in front of him when he tried to block the shot.

In the 51st minute, Alireza Jahanbakhsh scored a goal from plenty. Iran drew in the level terms. In the 52nd minute, Yousuf Abdurisag received the pass from Almoez Ali and took left left-footed shot from the center of the box and Alireza Beiranvand made a save in the bottom left corner. Qatar won the corner, and Pedro Miguel’s header was saved on the line by Shojae Khalilzadeh. Qatar kept calm and tried to control the tempo of this match and Iran looking for an opening to attack on Qatar.

In the 83rd minute, Abdulaziz Hatem took a shot but the ball rebounded for Almoez Ali who was in front of the goalkeeper he did not make any mistakes and slotted the ball home. Qatar scored an important goal to take the lead in this match for the second time.

In the Stoppage time, Akram Afif fouled Shojae Khalilzadeh who denied Akram Afif goal scoring opportunity after checking in the VAR system Referee showed a Red Card to Shojae Khalilzadeh. Iran needs to play with ten men. Qatar showed their composure and denied any kind of goal-scoring opportunity to Iran. Qatar won this match by 3-2 and booked their tickets into the AFC Asia Cup final at Lusail Stadium on 10th February.
