Qatar vs Palestine Football match: AFC Asia Cup

Qatar coach Tintín Márquez started with Meshaal Barsham first-choice goalkeeper for the team. Lucas Mendes, Boualem Khoukhi, and Bassam Al Rawi play in Centre center-back position. Ahmed Fatehi, Hassan Al-Haydos, and Jassem Gaber Abdulsallam are playing in the mid-field. Mohammed Waad plays as the left-side midfielder and Pedro Miguel plays as the Right-Side Midfielder. Almoez Ali and Akram Afif are playing in a center-forward position. Qatar coach Tintín Márquez selected a 3-5-2 formation in this match.

Palestine Team coach Makram Daboub started with Rami Hamadeh in the goal.  Mohammed Saleh and Michel Milad Ziad Termanini were playing in defense as center-backs. Mus’ab Al-Batat plays in the right side-back and Camilo Saldaña in the left side-back position. Amid Mahajna and Oday Ali Abdulrahim Kharoub were playing as centre-midfielder. Tamer Seyam plays in the right wing and Mahmoud Abu Warda plays in the left wing. Zaid Qunbar and Oday Dabbagh are playing in the center-forward position. Palestine coach Makram Daboub used a 4-4-2 formation for this match.

First Half

In the Early minutes of the game, Qatar kept possession of the ball and created chances in the final third. Palestine’s defensive unit was under pressure in the early minutes of the match. In the 8th minute, Qatar Won the corner Akram Afif took it short and then crossed the ball into the box for Bassam Al Rawi who headed the ball wide the post.

In the 19th minute, Amid Mahajna received a cutback pass from Tamer Seyam and took a shot from 25 yards away from the goal, Meshaal Barsham made the first save of this game. In the 27th minute, Oday Dabbagh held the ball on the edge of Qatar Plenty’s box and passed the ball to Mahmoud Abu Warda who took a shot and Meeshal Barsham made a save at the near post. Palestine dominated the possession and created pressure on the Qatar defensive unit.

In the 36th minute, Qatar lost possession in their half, Oday Dabbagh burst into the area before sliding a shot through the legs of a defender and low into the far corner with his left foot. In stoppage time, Qatar won the late corner Akram Afif delivered a low cross from a corner kick and found Hassan Al-Haydos near plenty spot who scored a goal and drew level terms with Palestine before the half-time whistle.

Second-Half

In the early minutes of the second half, Akram Afif played a pass for Almoez Ali who was inside the plenty box Mohammed Saleh took him down Referee pointed at the spot. Akram Afif scored a goal from Plenty’s kick. Qatar takes a lead of 2-1 in the scoreline. After taking the lead Qatar tightened up their defensive line. In the 85th minute, Arif Akram fouled in a dangerous position near the Palestine box. Akram Afif takes a free kick his shot went over the bar. Qatar maintained their lead over Palestine full the whistle was blown by the Referee Defending champions Advanced for the quarter-finals of the AFC Asia Cup.
