Qatar won the AFC Asia Cup 3-1: Qatar Vs Jordan

Qatar won the AFC Asia Cup, match ended with Qatar beating Jordan 3-1 in the finals of the AFC Asia Cup at Lusail Stadium. Qatar won the Consecutive AFC Asia Cup for the second time. Qatar opened the scoring from a plenty spot and Jordan equalized with Yazan Al-Naimat finishing in the second half. After that Jordan conceded two more goals from the Plenty Kicks. Akram Afif scored Hattrick by scoring all the goals from Plenty’s kicks.

Jordan Starting Eleven

Hussein Ammouta chose a starting eleven, Yazid Abu Layla in a goal. Yazan Al-Arab, Abdallah Mousa Musallam Nasib, and Salem Al-Ajalin are in the center-back position. Mahmoud Al-Mardi played the left wing-back and Ihsan Haddad played the right wing-back position. Nizar Mahmoud Ahmed Al Rashdan and Noor Al-Rawabdeh are in the center midfield position. Musa Al-Taamari played as the right wing-forward and Ali Olwan was playing as the left wing-forward. Yazan Al-Naimat playing in the center-forward position. Hussein Ammouta selected a 3-4-3 formation in this match.

Qatar coach Tintín Márquez started with Meshaal Barsham first-choice goalkeeper for the team. Almahdi Ali Mukhtar, Tarek Salman, and Lucas Mendes were playing as center-backs. Yousuf Abdurisag plays as a right wing-back and Mohammed Waad plays as a left wing-back. Ahmed Fatehi, Hassan Al-Haydos, and Jassem Gaber Abdulsallam play in the mid-field. Qatar won the AFC Asia Cup

First Half

Jordan started the match with great intensity they were on the attack in the early minutes of the match. In the 7th minute, Akram Afif received a long pass from the back line but he missed a goal-scoring opportunity by inches.

In the 8th minute, Jordan lost the ball in their half Akram Afif played a pass to Hassan Al-Haydos who was stopped in his tracks but moments later Akram Afif reached inside the box and took low driven shot but it was saved by Yazid Abu Layla.

In the 18th minute, Jordan was on the attack, Yazan Al-Naimat was inside the Qatari box and played a pass to Ihsan Haddad who played a cutting pass into the box but the keeper pounced on the ball and saved it.  In the 20th minute, Akram Afif burst into the box of Jordan but Abdallah Mousa Musallam Nasib clipped him from behind The Referee checked on the VAR system and pointed towards the plenty spot.

In the 22nd minute, Akram Afif scored from plenty and the home side took a 1-0 lead in the Finals of the AFC Asia Championship. Qatar playing high press and creating problems for Jordan’s Backline. Qatar and Jordan had a fair share of ball possession. In the stoppage time, Musa Al-Taamari Shot was saved by Meeshal Barsham. First Ended with a 1-0 scoreline in Lusail Stadium.

In the 67th minute, Ihsan Haddad crossed the ball from the right flanks in the box and found Yazan Al-Naimat who buried the ball into the net. Jordan scored a goal and the match back in level terms. In the 72nd minute, Mahmoud Al-Mardi trips Ismail Mohammad inside a box Referee awarded another plenty to Qatar. In the 73rd minute, Akram Afif Scored from the plenty. Qatar took a 2-1 lead in this match.

Jordan tried their best to find an equalizer but they wasted their chances to score a goal. In the stoppage time, Akram Afif was in on goal with no defenders in the way but he takes a heavy touch, however, Jordan’s keeper charges in on him and takes Afif down missing the ball completely. The third penalty goes to Qatar yet again. Akram Afif Scored his hattrick from plenty kick. Qatar won this final with 3-1 scoreline and became the AFC Asia Cup Champions for the second time.
