New CCTV footage of the suspect in the blast at the famous Rameshwaram Cafe in Karnataka’s capital Bengaluru has surfaced. This footage shows that the suspect had spent 9 minutes in the cafe before the blast. In the video, the suspect wearing sunglasses, mask and baseball cap can be seen going from the bus stand towards Rameshwaram Cafe (Rameshwaram Cafe CCTV Video). Earlier in the CCTV footage, the suspect was seen using his mobile phone while entering Rameshwaram Cafe in Brookfield, Bengaluru at 11.34 am on Friday.

Initial investigation has revealed that the age of the blast suspect is between 25 to 30 years. CCTV footage shows a man wearing a mask getting off the bus near the cafe and entering the cafe at 11:30. After this he orders idli. After paying at the counter, he takes the token.

After this, at 11:45 he leaves a bag filled with Improvised Explosive Device (IED) near the dustbin. One hour later, the same bag was detonated using a timer.

According to the report, 10 people including some staff of the cafe were injured in this blast. Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar said that the police has identified the accused. His face captured in CCTV is being matched with the facial recognition system. With this he will be tracked.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has started investigating this matter. Earlier, Bengaluru Police had registered a case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and Explosive Substances Act in connection with the cafe blast. The National Investigation Agency said, “We are continuing our investigation. 8 teams have been formed. All the teams are working in different directions from different angles.”

Rameshwaram Cafe has been the talk of the town in Bengaluru since it opened its first outlet in 2021. Rameshwaram Café, which has four outlets in Bengaluru, will debut in Hyderabad with a 15,000 sq ft café on January 19. This famous food outlet has been named after the birthplace of APJ Abdul Kalam because its co-founder Raghavendra Rao was inspired by the ‘big dreams’ of the former  business of around Rs 4.5 crore from each outlet. The founders here have also never confirmed or denied this claim.
