Russia backs India in Pannu Murder plot case : Russia advised America to develop understanding before speaking in India’s internal matters

Russia backs India in Pannu Murder plot case, Russia instructed America to develop understanding before speaking in India’s internal matters. India has got Russia‘s support in the case of pro-Khalistan fundamentalist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu. Russia has rejected America’s allegations of plotting murder against Pannu. The Russian Foreign Ministry said that Washington has not yet provided any credible evidence of India’s involvement in this.

Official spokesperson Maria Zakharova said that according to the information we have, Washington has not yet provided any credible evidence of the involvement of any Indian citizens in the preparation of the assassination of GS Pannu. He said that there should be no talk on this subject without evidence. Maria said that America does not understand the national mentality as well as the historical context of the development of the Indian country. By making such allegations he is disrespecting India as a country.

Zakharova’s comment came in response to a question asked by the press on this matter. Earlier, the American newspaper ‘The Washington Post’ had claimed in one of its reports that like Russia and Saudi Arabia, India too is taking secret action against its enemies.

Zakharova said that America is regularly making baseless allegations against India. He is not only speaking on India’s internal affairs but from his words it seems that he has a lot of misunderstanding about India’s development journey.

He said that this is the neo-colonial mentality of America which is inspired by the mentality of the colonial period, slave trade and imperialism. He said that at present general elections are being held in India. It is clear that America desires to unbalance the internal political situation of India.

Gurpatwant Singh Pannu is an India-designated terrorist who holds US and Canadian citizenship. Earlier in November, the US Justice Department had unsealed the indictment against an Indian national for his alleged involvement in the foiled plot to assassinate Pannu.

In April, the Ministry of External Affairs had rejected the Washington Post’s report which suggested the involvement of an Indian Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) officer in the alleged killing of Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu in America.
