After this level of protests, the Pakistan government has become helpless. Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has called an emergency meeting at Rashtrapati Bhavan on the situation in PoK.

The Pakistani President has urged all stakeholders to cooperate in finding solutions to reduce tensions in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier on Saturday, there were massive protests in PoK for the second consecutive day. Thousands of protesters came out on the streets on the call of Jammu and Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee. During this, Pakistani forces tried to stop the protesters, after which violent clashes took place at many places. Disturbing pictures of violence have emerged from many areas in PoK.

The extremist organization Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has extended its support to the people who have launched a front against Pakistan in PoK. The TTP, which is waging a war against the Pakistan Army, issued a statement saying, ‘Tehreek-e-Taliban extends full support to the protesters demanding tax-free electricity and wheat subsidy in Pakistan-administered Kashmir.’ Appealing to Kashmiris to launch an armed struggle against the Pakistan Army, TTP said, ‘Pakistan Army understands only the language of strength.’

PTI, the party of Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan and who spews venom against India, has also condemned the harassment and violence against PoK peaceful protesters, calling it unacceptable. PTI said, such a policy is dangerous for Pakistan and a direct threat to democracy.
