Talking about Sonia Gandhi’s political journey, she has been winning Lok Sabha elections continuously since 1999 and remains its member. In 1999, Sonia reached the Lok Sabha by winning from Amethi seat in Uttar Pradesh. After this, in 2004, his son former Congress President Rahul Gandhi entered electoral politics. Rahul contested from Amethi seat and Sonia contested from Rae Bareli seat.

Rae Bareli was the same seat from where Sonia’s mother-in-law Indira Gandhi once contested elections. Sonia contested and won from Rae Bareli seat four consecutive times in 2004, 2009, 2014 and 2019. Sonia is going to Rajya Sabha before the Lok Sabha elections 2024. With this it has been decided that after 57 years a member of the Nehru-Gandhi family will go to Rajya Sabha.
