Supreme Court’s big comment on Arvind Kejriwal’s bail, said- can consider, case will take time

Supreme Court’s big comment on Arvind Kejriwal’s bail, said- can consider, case will take time. The Supreme Court hearing on Friday brought some relief for Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, arrested by ED on money laundering charges in the Delhi Excise Policy Scam case. During the hearing, a two-judge bench of the Supreme Court said that it can consider granting interim bail to Kejriwal in view of the elections. However, the decision on whether this will happen or not will be taken on Tuesday.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is in jail in the Delhi Excise Policy Scam case, has filed a petition in the Supreme Court against his arrest. The hearing held today in this matter was a relief for Kejriwal in many ways.

After hearing the arguments of ED and Kejriwal’s lawyer in the case, a two-judge bench of the Supreme Court said that it can consider Kejriwal’s interim bail in view of the elections. However, a decision on this will be taken only on Tuesday.

On this, when the ED said that before giving any decision, they should be given full opportunity to present their side, the court said that they are not considering it right now, because it will take time.

When Kejriwal’s lawyer asked the court for hearing on Monday instead of Tuesday, the court said that it will not make any comment right now and will give its verdict on Tuesday only.

The bench of Justices Dipankar Dutta and Sanjiv Khanna told ED’s counsel, ASG SV Raju, that the hearing of the petition filed by Kejriwal against the arrest may take time. Therefore, the court may take ED’s side on Kejriwal’s interim bail.

SV Raju said on this that he will oppose the bail. Then the bench said, we are saying that we will hear the interim bail, we are not saying that we will grant bail. We may or may not grant bail.

Saying this, the court asked the ASG to come prepared for this and said that the next hearing of the case will be on May 7.
