There is a suspicion that before formatting the phone, Bibhav had saved the phone’s data in some other device and given it to someone else. The police had gone to Mumbai with Bibhav on Tuesday to search the phone data and collect other evidence.
The police had taken five-day police remand of Bibahv on May 18. His police custody is ending on Thursday 23 May. But till now the police has not got any major success in this case. He is not cooperating in the investigation. The evidence that has been destroyed also has to be collected. In such a situation, the police can again ask for Bibhav’s remand from the court. Bibhav stands by his statement and has denied assaulting Swati Maliwal.
