The national news broadcaster should not become a propaganda machine of the BJP-RSS alliance and should not screen a film that could increase communal tension ahead of the general elections. “Kerala will remain steadfast in opposing such malicious attempts to spread hatred,” Vijayan said in a post on Twitter.
The CPI(M) state secretariat alleged that the BJP decided to release the controversial film as the general elections are approaching, hoping to push its political agenda as the BJP is struggling to make inroads into the Kerala society.
CPI(M) said, “This is like challenging Kerala. There were strong protests in Kerala when it was released. The censor board itself removed 10 scenes from the film.” When this film was released in the year 2023, CPI (M) and Congress strongly opposed it.
