The strongest earthquake in 25 years occurred in Taiwan, tremors of 7.5 magnitudes, Japan issued warning.

A massive earthquake of 7.5 magnitude has been observed in Taiwan. This earthquake has shaken the southern islands of Japan. Due to the earthquake, there is a possibility of tsunami waves up to three meters high. The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) has issued a tsunami warning after the earthquake. The earthquake occurred shortly before 9 am local time. Taiwan has also seen major devastation due to the earthquake. The buildings have been demolished. People are trapped in buildings that collapsed due to the earthquake.

JMA’s disaster preparedness account on Twitter warned people in affected areas in a post. They have been asked not to leave the area until the further situation becomes clear. According to the translation of the tweet, it was written, ‘Tsunami warning has been issued till 9:01 pm on the 3rd. Tsunamis occur again and again. Do not leave your safe place until the warning is lifted. The JMA says there is a risk of a tsunami up to 10 feet high on Okinawa and the Miyajokima and Yaeyama island groups.

Videos have surfaced related to the damage caused in Hualien city, located on the east coast of Taiwan, close to the epicenter. A video shows that the building has collapsed, but it has not collapsed. People are surprised to see the tilted building. According to the US Geological Survey, the epicenter of the earthquake was located about 18 km south of Hualien city. According to officials, this is the most powerful earthquake to hit Taiwan in 25 years. A tsunami warning has also been issued from the Philippines.

China’s state media said the quake was also felt in parts of south-eastern Fujian province. Wu Chien Fu, director of Taiwan’s seismological center, said the earthquake was close to the ground and shallow. It was felt throughout Taiwan and offshore islands. This is the strongest earthquake in 25 years. In September 1999, a 7.6 magnitude earthquake struck Taiwan, killing 2,400 people. Earthquakes are often felt in Taiwan, because the island is located near the junction of two tectonic plates.
