The USA won the toss and elected to bowl first they got three wickets early. Mohammad Rizwan failed to deliver a solid start to the team with captain Babar Azam. Babar Azam scored 44 runs off 43 balls Jasdeep Singh took his wicket. Shahdab Khan was the stand-out player in the batting he scored 40 runs off 25 balls and Shaheen Shah Afridi scored 23* runs off 16 balls. Pakistan scored 159/7 in 20 overs.
Captain Wicket Keeper Monak Patel and Steven Taylor had a 36-run opening partnership. Monak Patel scored 50 runs off 38 balls.
