Uzbekistan Vs Thailand Football Match ended with Uzbekistan beating Thailand 2-1 in the round of 16 of the AFC Asia Cup. Uzbekistan qualifies for the 5th time into the Quarter-finals of the AFC Asia Cup. Uzbekistan Scored the first goal in the first half of the game and Thailand Drew level in the second half. After conceding an equalizer Uzbekistan scored the second goal 65th minute of the match, and with the second goal, they sealed their place in the Quarterfinals.

Thailand team starting eleven

Thailand coach Masatada Ishii picked Patiwat Khammai as a first-choice keeper. Pansa Hemviboon and Elias Dolah as centre back. Nicholas Mickelson is right side back and Theerathon Bunmathan is left side back. Weerathep Pomphan is playing as Defensive Midfielder. Worachit Kanitsribampen and Sarach Yooyen are playing in the Mid-field. Pathompol Charoenrattanapirom is right-wing and Rungrath Poomchantuek is left-wing. Supachai Chaided is playing as a center forward. Masatada Ishii chose a 4-1-4-1 formation in this match.

First Half

In the early minutes of the game, Uzbekistan maintains pressure on Thailand they are keeping possession of the ball and trying to create chances to score a goal. In the 18th minute, Oston Urunov and Jaloliddin Masharipov exchanged passes and Oston Urunov took a shot from close range, but the shoot went wide from the post.

In the 21st Minute, Uzbekistan on the attack, Diyor Kholmatov combines with Oston Urunov, who finds Masharipov outside the box. Masharipov shoots from a distance, but the shot is saved by Thailand’s goalkeeper. In the 37th minute, Diyor Kholmatov played the aerial ball to Azizbek Turgunboev in the front of the goal, Azizbek Turgunboev controlled the ball and slotted it inside the net. Uzbekistan takes a one-goal lead in this match.  The First Half ended with a 1-0 Scoreline.

Second Half

Thailand made two changes, Pathompol Charoenrattanapirom and Worachit Kanitsribampen were replaced with Supachok Sarachat and Suphanat Mueanta. In the 47th minute, Rungrath Poomchantuek received a pass from Supachok Sarachat and took a shot, but his shot was blocked. In the 58th minute, Supachok Sarachat scored a thunderous goal from the outside of the box Thailand drew the level terms with Uzbekistan. Half-time substitute made quite an impact in this match.

In the 65th minute, Uzbekistan on the attack, Abbosbek Fayzullaev received a ball outside the box of Thailand took a low shot it went into the far post of the net. Uzbekistan responded quickly and regained their lead. Thailand now keeping possession to find an equalizer they were trying hard to create chances and Uzbekistan’s defensive unit was on the toes to protect their lead.

In the 88th minute, Zafarmurod Abdurahmatov charged forward from the right wing as Uzbekistan tried to score a third and seal the win. He whips in a cross, and his teammates combine well in the middle before Thailand’s defenders block the danger. Thailand tried its best to break Uzbekistan’s defensive line, but Uzbekistan successfully defended their lead. The full-time whistle blown by the referee Uzbekistan Advanced into the Quarter-Finals of the AFC Asia Cup.

Uzbekistan will face defending champion Qatar in the quarter-finals of the AFC Asia Cup on 3rd February.
